RAYS..don't believe they are peaceful

Uploaded by: BettyFrance

Wednesday July 25, 2012

Stoughton, WI (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Rays so long and every direction from the sunset that even my widest angle could not catch them all. And watching it was a little bit cooler than the day.. and in an hour we had a real real storm. That's the storm at the horizon coming toward me. Lightning was continuous and fierce. Two + inches rain, NICE.

The concentric lines might just be from the picture being compressed..if you can't see them on the large file than that's why...sometime patterns do strange things when reduced in size.

Thank God, both for His beautiful sky-gift and for the blessed rain you finally received! We got 3/4ths of an inch on Thursday, July 25th, and every raindrop was appreciated! Julie in Ohio

The concentric circles are from not having enough dynamic range.  Either from the camera itself or the post processing.

I noticed the concentric lines and have been puzzling over them.  I did not notice them when I took the photo.  I had to enhance the photo because the rays came out quite pale in the photo...Might this be the reason?

Glorious spectacle - not only the rays, but faint concentric circles radiating from the center. Glad the storm was not too extreme to be welcome!
