Caption: Found this teeny-tiny little mantid of all places,,in my sink on a dish! I properly and gently escorted my leetle 'friend'on the tip of my fingers outside to the newly blossomed [rudbeckia?],a surprise volunteer this year by the porch. Oh my,,that is SAD! I never knew that Gale! I know I get a little perturbed when I've seen that they have bagged a butterfly,,usually cabbage whites,or sulphurs...but,there are PLENTY of bugs around here for them to nab,,they don't need hummers, and besides, for some reason I rarely see any as I don't have any flowers they like this time of year, when the mantids are starting to get bigger...I'll remember that though, thanks for the info!

Great shot! Everyone seems to love preying mantis but they are not my favorite. I love hummingbirds more and mantis are very effective at killing and eating hummers.

Aw Shucks,,thanks friends!! I'm always rescuing something it seems..the older I get,the more precious that I find life, and feel guilty for all the [well much] the bugs I've stomped or squooshed in my life..lol..I know,I have a weird way of looking at things but,,that's me! Glad you liked this!

About BEME

BEME

Hi KIDDIES!!! O.K.,,there seems to be a bit of confusion about this photo,,,I AM on the left,,a gal!![MINDI],,and the right-hand pic is of BOB my hubby!! I cloned the two images together,,of us taking pics of each other,,so we could give you folks an idea of who we are,,replacing the previous photo of our two favorite eagle family youngsters...We live in Shenandoah,Ia.,,and enjoy [especially me] taking lots of pictures!! I do most of the posting on here,,that's MY thing..and I try to put up Bobs when he takes some good ones...I would also like for you to check out the older ones from time,to time,,I like to share my images,,though not always the greatest,,just to give you an idea what life is sometimes like here in S.W. Iowa.. I came out here from the East Coast and interior New England, where I lived until 1992,,I also lived in Philly for a few years, and Bob is born and raised here in Shenandoah.,,but loves other places that we have visited too. I am happy to have found this site to learn how to take better photos,,meet new people, and make new friends, and be dazzled by what folks share of their 'world'in pictures on here. THANK YOU WuNDERGROUND! I appreciate all your kind words and mail, and critique as much as I enjoy giving back in kind! SHARE THE LOVE!!
