Albuquerque, NM (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: As thunderstorms in this region butt up against the picturesque Sandia Mountain range, they run into a good degree of orographic enhancement courtesy of the 6,000 foot granite abutment. I captured this as we waited in line to board our bus back home. Oh, no tripod. Hand stabilized. 28mm equivalent, F~3.5, ISO 1000, 1/10th second. Turned out pretty good. Happy Independence Day!

Thanks everyone! The lightning last night nearly crashed our party at Balloon Fiesta Park, but fortunately enough, the storm veered south and tracked along the mountains to the east. With the danger far enough away, and the accompanying visual treats, it couldn't have been a better scenario.
