Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 12:28 AM CDT on June 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Dunn County in southwestern North Dakota...
Oliver County in south central North Dakota...
southeastern McLean County in south central North Dakota...
Mercer County in south central North Dakota...

* until 830 am CDT Tuesday/730 am MDT Tuesday/

* at 1226 am CDT /1126 PM MDT/... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain
due to thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream
flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beulah... Washburn... Killdeer... Nelson Lake... Hazen... center...
Stanton... Zap... Halliday... Golden Valley... Dunn Center... Dodge...
Manning... Marshall... little Missouri State Park... Hannover... cross
ranch State Park... Hensler... Fort Clark and Twin Buttes.

Additional rainfall up to 2 inches inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will cause flooding of low lying and
flood prone areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
