... Lake effect Snow Advisory in effect until 4 PM EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a lake
effect Snow Advisory... which is in effect until 4 PM EST
Thursday.

* Accumulations... storm total of 4 to 8 inches of snow. Mainly in
the eastern portions of the County.

* Timing... snow showers will increase in coverage later today
and then continue into Thursday. The snow showers are expected
to diminish in coverage and intensity on Thursday.

* Impacts... snow covered roads and reduced visibility during
heavier snow showers and squalls.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... 11 to 26.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In lake effect snow the weather can vary from locally heavy snow
in narrow bands to dry weather just a few miles away. If you will
be traveling across the region be prepared for rapid changes in
Road and visibility conditions. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio

... Heavy lake effect snow will move slowly south this morning...

A band of heavy lake effect snow will continue to gradually move
south on to the Lake Shore from northern Lorain County through
downtown Cleveland into lake... northern Geauga... Ashtabula... Erie
and Crawford counties through noon. The snow band will produce
locally heavy snow with snowfall accumulations of up to an inch an
hour. Wind gusts to 20 to 25 mph will occur with the band of snow
causing blowing and drifting of the snow. Motorists should be
prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions and allow extra
time for travel along the Interstate 90 corridor.
