Nowcast | as of 7:04 am MST on December 26, 2014

Snow will be increasing across east central New Mexico through at least mid morning...mainly northeast of a line from Milnesand to Clines Corners. This should be where the most significant snow amounts occur...perhaps 1 to 3 inches through mid morning. More spotty snowfall will continue across the Estancia valley and the central and south Central Highlands...including the northern Sacramento Mountains. Some rain may be mixed in across Chaves and Roosevelt County. Outside of east central New Mexico expect snowfall up to an additional inch...with another inch locally over the higher country. Visibilities will be locally reduced in freezing fog from east Central Plains into south central and Central Highlands. Fog and snow on roads will create snow covered and icy spots... first on bridges...over culverts...and in sheltered areas...then a little later on elsewhere.
