Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:33 AM MDT on July 06, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 10 PM MDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of north and central nm...
including the following areas... De Baca County... eastern Lincoln
County and Roosevelt County.

* Until 10 PM MDT this evening

* a back door cold front moving into the plains will provide focus
for numerous showers and thunderstorms this afternoon through
late this evening. Due to a very moist and unstable atmosphere...
any storm will be capable of very heavy rain. Slow moving or
training storms will exacerbate the flash flooding threat. One
to two inches of rain is likely... with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Urban drainages will be the most susceptible to flash flooding
if heavy rainfall develops.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash
flood warnings be issued.
