Nowcast | as of 1:55 am MDT on September 18, 2014

Through 430 am MDT...a large area of rain will continue to spread slowly northeast across southern Lincoln County and the southwest third or so of Chaves County and north across the south half of Socorro County. A few thunderstorms can be expected as well across portions of Roosevelt County southwest into central Chaves County. Significant rain impacts will be most likely southeast through southwest of Socorro...also south of a line from Elkins to Arabela... near Arch...Rogers and perhaps Portales. Some locally heavy rain will be possible in spots across the south half of Chaves County...far southeast Lincoln County...southern Socorro County and portions of Roosevelt County where two thirds of an inch to an inch and a third of rain could fall during this time period. Most locales though should see a quarter to just over a half inch of rain. Travelers and residents in these areas should be alert to ponding of water as well as fast flowing water over low water crossings and in arroyos after midnight.
