A low pressure system over Newfoundland is moving toward the
Labrador Sea today. Strong winds will develop in the wake of this
storm. The combination of fresh snow and winds will cause widespread
blowing snow greatly reducing visibilities in these areas.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Be
prepared to adjust your driving with changing Road conditions.

Weather advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are
expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres
or less for at least 3 hours.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
Please continue to monitor your local media or weatheradio for
further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can
call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to
tempsviolent.Quebec(at)ec.Gc.CA. You may also tweet reports of severe
weather to (hash)meteoqc.

A period of very cold wind chills is expected.

An Arctic air mass and moderate winds will give wind chill values
reaching -45 in northwestern and central Quebec. This cold weather
will spread toward areas further east beginning this evening and
give wind chill values between -38 and -50. This extreme cold will
persist through Monday morning.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind
chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and
hypothermia.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
Please continue to monitor your local media or weatheradio for
further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can
call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to
tempsviolent.Quebec(at)ec.Gc.CA. You may also tweet reports of severe
