Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, June 19, 2013.

Only a few areas of unsettled weather are anticipated in Europe on Wednesday as high pressure remains the dominant weather feature of much of the continent.

In western Europe, low pressure located just south of the United Kingdom will remain nearly stationary on Wednesday and will drive a warm front northward across the southern United Kingdom, the North Sea, and Denmark. This disturbance will kick up increased cloud cover and light scattered showers with chances of thunderstorms as it progresses, while the brunt of it's precipitation remains in the North Sea. By the afternoon, chances of showers will spread into the southern portions of Norway and Sweden as the tail of the warm front reaches the southern coast of Sweden. London will see chances of thunderstorms with a high near 82(F)/28(C). Stockholm will see increasing cloud cover through the evening with a high near 66(F)/19(C).

Meanwhile, to the another warm front associated with this system will extend into northwestern France bringing scattered showers to areas west of Paris through the morning. The tail of this front will extend across western France as an energetic cold front. Expect scattered showers with periods of more moderate precipitation and thunderstorms to spread across central and northeastern France through the evening as the cold front lifts north to northeastward. Paris will see showers and thunderstorms and the beginning of a cooling trend as highs reach near 79(F)/26(C).

Further south, a wave of low pressure will move into the Iberian Peninsula with modest onshore flow. This will translate into generally light to moderate scattered showers in parts of northern Portugal and the northern half of Spain through the day.

Elsewhere, outside of a few decreasing showers in Romania, the rest of the continent will experience generally dry weather conditions and slightly warmer, well above normal temperatures for this time of year as high pressure centered over the central Mediterranean Sea spans northward across much of the central and eastern mainland.
