---------------------------------------------------------------------
==Discussion==

A trough of low pressure stretching from the Whitecourt through Elk
Island and lloydminster has triggered a few thunderstorms this
afternoon. These thunderstorms produced toonie sized hail in the
Whitecourt region. The potential for large hail and torrential rain
remains through the watch area.

Westerly winds have dried out the airmass in Drayton Valley and
Edmonton. Thunderstorms remain possible however storms are no longer
expected to become severe.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Remember, severe
thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. In
Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when
thunder roars, go indoors.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
Please continue to monitor your local media or weatheradio for
further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can
call 1-800-239-0484 or send an email to storm(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet
reports to (hash)abstorm.
