Statement as of 4:41 AM AKDT on May 04, 2015

... Frost advisory remains in effect until 8 am akdt this
morning...

* location... very localized to wind sheltered interior valleys
under mostly clear skies.

* Temperatures... 28 to 36 degrees.

* Timing... temperatures will bottom out between 5 am and 7 am this
morning.

* Impacts... frost can develop at temperatures 35 and below. There
are very localized subfreezing temperatures this morning which
can be damaging to sensitive plants.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An advisory means that frost is already occurring or imminent.

Frost advisories are issued during the growing season so that
sensitive plants may be protected before damage occurs.

Locally windy areas are much warmer this morning and not subject
to frost. For example temperatures are in the upper 40s and 50s in
downtown Juneau and Douglas where it has been breezy overnight
while temperatures are near freezing in Mendenhall Valley where
winds have been calm.

This statement will be updated by 8 am akdt Monday or
sooner if conditions warrant.
