... Heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT Friday...

* temperatures... highs in the upper 90s to 104. Lows in the
upper 60s.

* Locations... Wenatchee... Brewster... Omak... Oroville

* impacts... if you plan to be active be prepared for more hot
weather. Drink plenty of water. If you are outdoors... take
breaks from vigorous activity and rest in the shade.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 911. A heat advisory means that a period
of hot temperatures is expected. Very hot temperatures can create
a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of
fluids... stay in an air- conditioned room... stay out of the sun...
and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Washington Okanogan/Methow valleys (zone 684) and fire weather
zone 687 East Washington Okanogan Highlands (zone 687).

* Winds: north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidities: 8 to 16 percent.

* Impacts: rapid fire spread is possible with existing fires or
new fire starts in the area.
