Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:17 PM PDT on July 05, 2015

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 700 PM PDT for
northeastern San Bernardino County...

At 516 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated scattered thunderstorms
producing heavy rain over portions of the Mojave National preserve.
These storms where moving slowly southward and will likely continue
through 700 PM. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cima... Mitchell caverns... Black Canyon equestrian campground... Hole
In the Wall campground and mid hills campground... Morningstar mine
Road... Ivanpah Road.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
