The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
central San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 630 PM PDT

* at 549 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing quarter size hail and destructive winds in
excess of 70 mph. This storm was located over Afton Canyon
campground... or 20 miles southeast of Fort Irwin... and moving north
at 10 mph.

* Locations impacted include...
Afton Canyon campground.

This includes Interstate 15 in California between mile markers 102
and 126.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This storm will produce high winds which can bring down trees and
power lines and cause blowing dust. Also... lightning can kill! Take
cover in a sturdy building and stay away from windows until the storm
passes. Report severe weather to the Las Vegas National Weather
Service via facebook or twitter.

San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 630 PM PDT

* at 533 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm
was located over Adelanto... or near Victorville. This storm was
nearly stationary. Penny size hail may also accompany the damaging
winds.

* Locations impacted include...
Victorville... Adelanto... El Mirage... Phelan... Mountain view acres
and Oro Grande.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds... destructive hail...
deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection... move to
an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy
rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water
covers the Road.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 630 PM PDT

* at 324 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain over mainly rural areas of north central San Bernardino
County. The storm is nearly stationary. Flash flooding is expected
to begin shortly and is expected to impact kelbacker Road.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of central San
Bernardino County and kelbacker Road southeast of Baker.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flash flooding is expected in washes... low water crossings and on
roads. To escape rising water... move to higher ground. Never try to
cross a flooded Road or enter a flood channel. Turn around... dont
drown! Report flooding to the Las Vegas National Weather Service via
facebook or twitter.

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

producing heavy rain north of Baker along California State Highway
127. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... areas north
of Baker... Highway 127 including the Dumont Dunes area.

Flash flooding is expected in washes... low water crossings and on
roads. To escape rising water... move to higher ground. Never try to
cross a flooded Road or enter a flood channel. Turn around... dont

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 645 PM PDT for southern
San Bernardino County...

At 541 PM PDT... thunderstorm activity has ended in the immediate
area and heavy rain is no longer expected. However... a Flood
Advisory remains in effect as water from thunderstorm activity
earlier this afternoon recedes and roadway cleanup efforts continue.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Ponding of water on area roadways is possible due to excessive
runoff from heavy rainfall earlier this afternoon. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads and find alternate routes.

At 541 PM PDT... Doppler radar continued to indicate heavy rain due
to thunderstorms in the area. Minor flooding is expected in
portions of the advisory area over the next few hours.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Victorville... Hesperia... Apple Valley... Lake arrowhead... Adelanto...
Running Springs... Angelus Oaks... Skyforest... El Mirage and Hwy 18
between Running Springs and big bear.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
