Nowcast | as of 8:50 PM MDT on August 22, 2014

Doppler weather radar is tracking a broken line of showers and thunderstorms which extends from northeast of Truth or Consequences southward to east of Columbus. This line is moving east around 10 to 15 mph. Radar estimates most precipitation is light but some of the heavier amounts are in the .3 to .7 inch range around the Uvas Valley to north of Hatch and also south and east of Rock House in northern Sierra County. This activity will continue to have the potential produce locally heavy rain with possible low area flooding. In addition these storms may contain small hail...wind gusts to 45 mph...and cloud to ground lightning. Exercise more caution at night as it is more difficult to see flooded areas.
