The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of north and central nm...
including the following areas... Curry County... De Baca County...
Guadalupe County... Quay County and Roosevelt County.

* Through late tonight

* areas of heavy rain due to strong to severe thunderstorms is
expected over a land surface that has received copious amounts
of rainfall the past week. Widespread rainfall totals of 1/2 to
1 inch are expected with localized 2 to 4 inch amounts possible.

* Rapid runoff from heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding of
flood prone and urban areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
