... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT Monday...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect until 6 PM MDT
Monday.

* Snow accumulations... 5 to 10 inches and locally up to 15 inches.
The greater amounts are expected along the east slopes of the
Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

* Timing... rain... and a mix of rain and snow will change over to
snow later this evening and overnight.

* Winds... becoming northeast at 15 to 25 mph.

* Snow levels... dropping to between 6500 and 7000 feet by Monday
morning with accumulating snow levels falling to near or just
below 7500 feet.

* Local impacts... roads above 7500 feet including Raton and
bobcat passes will likely become snow packed and icy. The
visibility will fall below a half mile during periods of heavy
snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
