Most of the precipitation will stretch between El Morro...Crownpoint...Lindrith toward Chama. Additional snow accumulations through the afternoon will be minimal...but will favor areas above 8000 feet across the north central mountains. Meanwhile...light rain showers will prevail elsewhere...including around Grants and Farmington. Rainfall accumulations will generally be a few hundredths or less.

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM MST this
afternoon...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect until 4 PM
MST this afternoon.

* Snow accumulations... additional 1 to 4 inches of snow are
expected above 8500 feet this afternoon... with the greater
totals favoring west and southwest facing slopes.

* Timing... periods of snow... at times moderate to heavy... can be
expected this afternoon with a brief lull in coverage tonight
into Monday morning. Heavy snow will become more widespread
Monday afternoon into Tuesday with lower snow levels.

* Winds... southwest to west winds 15 to 25 mph over ridgetops of the
Sangre de Cristo.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for snow at
locations near and above 8500 feet... with a mix of rain and
snow or rain below 8500 feet.

* Local impacts... difficult travel conditions due to snow packed
and icy roadways are expected at times in the high country
along with reduced visibility in locally heavy snow.
Structural integrity issues may arise due to the weight of
heavy snow.

conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
