Nowcast | as of 10:40 PM MDT on September 15, 2014

Although weakening...slow moving showers and thunderstorms will continue over portions of western and central New Mexico this evening. Through midnight...thunderstorms will be most likely in the northwestern areas near Crownpoint and Chaco Canyon...along the Interstate 40 corridor between Gallup and Thoreau to Acoma Pueblo...and in central Socorro County including the Interstate 25 corridor between Bernardo and Bosque del Apache. Lighter showers will produce light precipitation south of Interstate 40 near El Morro and Ramah....around the Albuquerque Metro area...and across the northern high terrain especially near the Colorado border. Any thunderstorms will be capable of producing moderate downpours... dangerous cloud to ground lightning...and gusty outflow boundaries to 40 mph. Runoffs associated with this activity will lead to fast moving water through normally dry arroyos and creeks and across low water crossings.
