Through 11 am MST...a back door cold front will continue to slide slowly south and west across northeast and east central New Mexico... with temperatures continuing to fall in the teens and 20s. We could see gusty northeast winds between 25 and 35 mph along with areas of freezing fog behind the front. A few areas of freezing drizzle...light snow and quarter mile visibility or less will create some patchy hazardous travel conditions. For Road conditions dial 5 1 1 or visit N M roads dot com.

Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:59 AM MST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until midnight MST tonight...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
until midnight MST tonight.

* Snow accumulations... 1 to 2 inches below 6000 feet and 2 to 4
inches above 6000 feet. A light glaze of freezing drizzle is
expected.

* Timing... freezing drizzle and light snow will develop this
morning and continue through early this evening before tapering
off before midnight.

* Winds... north to northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
The strongest winds will occur along the Texas state line.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for freezing
drizzle and snow at all locations.

* Local impacts... difficult travel conditions will develop today
due to snow packed and icy roads. Visibilities will be reduced
in snow and blowing snow. This includes Interstate 40 from near
Santa Rosa east to Texas and Interstate 25 near Las Vegas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be restricted due to a combination of falling
and blowing snow.
