northwestern McKinley County in west central New Mexico...

* until 330 PM MDT

* at 127 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to a line of thunderstorms stretching from 9 miles
south of Sheep Springs to 9 miles north of Fort Wingate. This line
was moving to the east at only 9 mph.

* Locations impacted include...
Yah-ta-hey... Rock Springs... Brimhall nizhoni... Tohatchi...
nakaibito... Standing Rock... Coyote Canyon... Twin Lakes and
Pinedale.

southeastern San Juan County in northwestern New Mexico...

* until 315 PM MDT

* at 121 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to numerous thunderstorms.

* Locations impacted include...
Crownpoint... Counselor... Ojo Encino... Turley... Standing Rock... Lake
valley... Chaco Canyon... Nageezi... blanco Trading Post and el
Huerfano Trading Post.

Other locations affected include Angel Peak Recreation Area and
Hammond Point San Juan River access. Highway 550 will be impacted in
spots northwest of Cuba to near Bloomfield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous
flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to
drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles
and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
