Nowcast | as of 11:55 PM MDT on September 16, 2014

A west to east oriented band of light to moderate rain was holding strong across a portion of central and west central New Mexico... mainly from the south half of Torrance County due west to northern Catron County and southernmost Cibola County. This area was showing signs of drifting more toward the northeast near and west of the Rio Grande. Through 2 am MDT the north end of this rain area may advance nearly as far north as a Gallup to Albuquerque and Milagro line. Other showers or areas of rain may well move north and northeast into Catron and Socorro counties into the early predawn hours. Rainfall amounts during this period will range from a few hundredths to as much as a third of an inch...though locally higher amounts between one half and three quarters of an inch could accumulate with south of Interstate 40 and west of the Rio Grande.
