Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 3:49 PM MDT on July 06, 2015

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...
eastern Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 645 PM MST

* at 342 PM MST... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges near Ash
Canyon and Hunter Canyon indicated heavy rain of 1 to 1.5 inches
in the last hour has occured due to thunderstorms. Additional
thunderstorms in the area will likely add to these totals over the
next couple of hours. Rainfall runoff will drain into normally dry
washes... roadway dips and other low lying areas resulting in
significant ponding of water and minor flooding issues.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sierra
Vista... Huachuca City... Tombstone... Canelo... Fort
Huachuca... Ramsey Canyon preserve... Palominas... Junction of
highways 80 and 90... Hereford... Ash Canyon... Hunter Canyon and
Parker Canyon Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in
normally dry washes. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads.
Find alternate routes.
