Flash Flood Warning
Statement as of 10:12 PM MDT on July 07, 2015

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northwestern Lincoln County in west central Wyoming...

* until midnight MDT

* at 1007 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
very heavy rain in and around alpine... including Snake River and
greys river canyons. Excessive rainfall will likely cause mud
slides near steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock...
mud... vegetation and other loose materials.

* Locations of greatest concern is the extreme west end of the Snake
River Canyon and the greys River Canyon.

* Also minor flooding in low lying or poor drainage areas could
occur in alpine and other communities in extreme northern Star
Valley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding... or debris on the roadway.

Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:40 PM MDT on July 07, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Wednesday afternoon
through Wednesday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of western... central... and southern Wyoming.

* From Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening

* sub tropical moisture will override another surface front
today while an upper level disturbance gets storms going later
this morning. Showers and embedded thunderstorms will increase
across southern and southwestern Wyoming this afternoon and
evening. Locally heavy rainfall will fall out of the stronger
storm cores with up to an inch of precipitation falling in
short order... some over areas that received rainfall Monday
night... with the potential for flash flooding.

* Rock or mud slides will be possible in steeply sloped areas...
especially around Casper Mountain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The Flash Flood Watch for portions of WY and Wyoming will expire
at 10 PM MDT this evening. Heavier showers and thunderstorms are
winding down and becoming less widespread this evening... and will
no longer pose a flash flooding threat.
