Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:42 AM MDT on July 07, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from noon MDT today
through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Wyoming... including the following areas... Flaming
Gorge... East Sweetwater County... Rock Springs and Green
River... Salt River and Wyoming ranges... South Lincoln
County... Star Valley and Upper Green river basin.

* From noon MDT today through this evening

* sub tropical moisture will override a surface front today.
Showers and embedded thunderstorms will increase across
southern and southwestern Wyoming this afternoon and evening.
Locally heavy rainfall will fall out of the stronger storm
cores with up to an inch of precipitation falling in short
order... some over areas that received rainfall Monday night...
with the potential for flash flooding.

* Rock or mud slides will be possible in steeply sloped areas...
especially around mountain passes and canyons. Previously dry
or nearly dry playa ponds and lakes will begin to take on
water... especially over northeastern Sweetwater County.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
