... The Flood Advisory that was in effect for southwestern Oldham and
western Deaf Smith counties will be allowed to expire at 900 am
CDT...

Excess runoff from heavy rain has ended over the advisory area.
Streams and creeks in the advisory area have receded or were
beginning to recede... ending the flood threat. If flooding has been
observed... please report it to your local law enforcement agency.

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of Oklahoma and Texas... including the following
areas... in Oklahoma... Cimarron. In Texas... Dallam... Deaf
Smith... Hartley... Moore... Oldham... Potter... Randall and
Sherman.

* Through Saturday morning

* thunderstorms with heavy rain will be possible across the western
panhandles through Saturday morning. The runoff from the heavy rain
may cause areas of flash flooding. In addition to flash flooding
concerns... runoff could also affect Playa Lakes around Amarillo
that are at or near capacity.

* Flash flooding could impact travel. Fast flowing water can sweep
vehicles from roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued. Homeowners near Playa Lakes
are urged to keep a close eye on rainfall.
