Nowcast | as of 2:12 PM CDT on September 19, 2014

Through mid-afternoon...scattered showers will continue to increase in coverage and intensity across the South Plains...rolling plains and southern Texas Panhandle. A couple of rumbles of thunder could also mix in. Expect brief heavy rain with the strongest activity as it moves northward around 15 mph. Additional rainfall totals of a tenth to quarter inch will be common with the showers...with localized half to one inch amounts. As of 2 PM...the heaviest shower was located across Crosby County...though almost any could see a shower. Motorist should be alert for reduced visibilities and ponding of water on roadways when encountering the more intense showers.
