Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 11:48 PM CDT on May 22, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* the southern Texas Panhandle... South Plains... and rolling
plains.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* thunderstorms developing in eastern New Mexico and southwest
Texas will spread northeast overnight... then organize into one
of more convective complexes over the South Plains region Saturday
morning. Very intense rain rates will occur with the strongest
storms... bringing the risk of inundation and flash flooding.

* Rainfall totals around 1 inch will be common... with 2 to 3
plus inches possible where storms track repeatedly over the
same area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
