the Flood Warning continues for
the Guadalupe River at Gonzales.
* At 8:45 am Wednesday the stage was 41.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 31.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 42.5 feet by after midnight
tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage late Friday morning.
* Impact... at 43.0 feet... major flooding closes highways 183, 97 and farm to
Market 108. Runoff down Tinsley creek in Gonzales added to the Guadalupe River
backwater can flood lowest homes near the creek. Secondary roads and streets
near the river are flooded and dangerous to motorists..

the Flood Warning continues for
the Plum Creek near Luling.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 25.2 feet this
afternoon. The river will then begin to fall and fall below major flood stage
tomorrow morning. At this time the gauge is malfunctioning.
* Impact... at 25.0 feet... major flooding, flow in Plum Creek is seventy five to
one hundred yards wide in most areas with many secondary roads and low bridges
flooded. Livestock in low areas of the flood plain may be cut off and
drowned..

* Impact... at 24.0 feet... moderate flooding in Palmetto State Park five miles
below Luling inundates many park facilities and roads..
