... Elevated afternoon heat index values expected to persist on
Thursday...

peak heat index values of 100 to 107 degrees are expected again
on Thursday during the late morning through afternoon hours. A
few isolated spots closer to the coast may reach 108 degrees for
an hour or two during the afternoon.

Residents with any outdoor activity plans are urged to drink plenty
of water... wear light weight and light colored clothing... and take
frequent indoor or shaded area breaks away from the heat. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under
any circumstances! Car interiors can reach lethal high temperatures
within a matter of minutes.

ozone action day for the Houston... Galveston... and Brazoria areas for
Thursday July 30, 2015.

Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing
high levels of ozone pollution in the Houston... Galveston and
surrounding areas on Thursday. You can help prevent ozone
pollution by sharing a ride... walking or riding a bicyle... taking
