Nowcast | as of 3:30 am CDT on May 24, 2015

Numerous showers with embedded thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall will continue to trace northeast across much of north and central Texas through 8 am. Any additional heavy rainfall will likely produce run off and induce flash flooding due to saturated soils. In addition... ongoing river flooding will continue and become enhanced across the region through the morning hours. Nighttime flooding can become life-threatening in an instant. If you come across flooded roads...especially moving water...turn around don't drown. Isolated severe storms will remain possible as well with gusty downburst winds and frequent lightning being the main threats through daybreak. Expect mild temperatures to hold steady in the 60s with variable winds 5 to 10 mph...gustier in and around thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall.
