At 2:45 am...radars continued to detect widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms across northeast and east central Oklahoma...with a small portion of southeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas affected as well. Movement was to the northeast at 30 mph. Rainfall rates in the heavier rains have been between a half inch and an inch per hour. Through 4:30 am...rain will continue to stream across northeast and east central Oklahoma while gradually spreading east into southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Rainfall intensity is remaining rather steady...at a half inch to an inch per hour in the heavier activity. Overnight rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches remain likely...and areas of flooding will expand across the region. Remember do not drive through flooded roadways.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Wednesday evening...

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of west central Arkansas
and southeast Oklahoma... including the following areas... in
west central Arkansas... Franklin and Sebastian. In southeast
Oklahoma... Choctaw... Latimer... Le Flore and Pushmataha.

* Through Wednesday evening

* a swath of 3 to 5 inches of rain is forecast along and on
either side of a line from near lake Eufaula northeastward
toward Bentonville and Rogers... with 2 to 4 inches expected to
fall as far north as a Pawnee to Bartlesville line. Some
isolated locations could receive as much as 10 inches of
rainfall by Wednesday evening. Dangerous flash flooding will
likely be the result.

If you are in the watch area... keep informed... and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued.
