At 8:36 am... National Weather Service Doppler radars indicated areas of light snow spreading across northeast Oklahoma... mostly along and north of I 44. Temperatures had dropped to 32 degrees or less... roughly along and north of a Berryville to Fayetteville Arkansas to Okmulgee Oklahoma line. Predominantly sleet was occurring north of this line to I 44... where a transition to snow had commenced. Rain was falling over most of southeast Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. Through 10:30 am... areas of light rain will continue to transition to freezing rain and sleet in southeast Oklahoma and I west central Arkansas. A powerful late winter cold front will continue sweeping toward the southeast... eventually producing a change to freezing or frozen precipitation across the entire region.

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon today to
midnight CST tonight...

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect...

For the following counties...
* in Oklahoma... Pittsburg and Haskell.

Hazardous weather...
* rain will spread into southeast Oklahoma this morning. The rain
   will transition to freezing rain... sleet... and finally snow
   during the afternoon and evening... as cold air moves into the
   region behind a cold front. Wintry precipitation will persist
   into Wednesday night before tapering off from northwest to
   southeast.

* Around 1 to 2 inches of snow and sleet accumulation and a
   quarter inch or less of ice accumulation is expected from noon
   today to midnight CST tonight.

Impacts...
* roads in the advisory area may become slick and hazardous...
   especially on bridges and overpasses and non-treated surfaces.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
* use extra caution if driving. Attempt to stay on treated
   roadways. Expect travel delays.
