... Flood Warning extended until Wednesday afternoon...

the Flood Warning continues for
the Washita river near Carnegie.

* Until Wednesday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 2:00 PM Sunday the stage was 25.8 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Washita river will continue rising and crest near
30.2 feet early Monday afternoon. The Washita river will fall below
flood stage mid Wednesday morning.

* Impact... at 30.0 feet... look for wide flood plain coverage along
the Washita River Valley in eastern Washita and western Caddo
counties. Some farm levees are overtopped hours before the time of
crest near Carnegie. More than five thousand acres of farm lands
are covered by flood depths to about 5 feet... and will be the
highest water levels observed since flood control began at Foss
dam. Local highways may be blocked... isolating some rural
communities and many farmsteads.

... Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity...

the Flood Warning continues for
the Washita river near Clinton.

* Until Tuesday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 1:30 PM Sunday the stage was 24.8 feet.

* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Washita river will continue rising to near 25.4 feet
Sunday evening. The Washita river will fall below flood stage early
Tuesday morning.

* Impact... at 25.0 feet... approximately 15 thousand acres of rural
lands are covered by depths up to 7 feet... from areas near the
mouth of Barnitz creek... to near Clinton in Custer County... and
downstream near the town of Cloud Chief in Washita County. Many
farmsteads are severely flooded and others isolated for hours by
water over local roads. Many farm levees are overtopped... with
some levees being inundated hours before the crest passes Clinton.
