Statement as of 3:25 PM CDT on May 28, 2015

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
parts of central and southern Oklahoma
portions of northern and central Texas

* effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 325 PM until
1100 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
isolated very large hail events to 2.5 inches in diameter
    possible
a tornado or two possible

Summary... thunderstorms continue to develop across parts of central
Oklahoma this afternoon... while other/vigorous storms evolving over
the Texas South Plains are forecast to organize into a bowing MCS
and shift east-southeastward into North Texas with time. Risk for
large hail and damaging winds is evident -- with wind risk possibly
becoming widespread into this evening presuming upscale growth into
a bowing MCS occurs as anticipated.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch area is approximately along and 50
statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northeast of
Oklahoma City Oklahoma to 55 miles south southeast of Brownwood

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remember... a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally
do produce tornadoes.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* all of northern... western... .central... and southern Oklahoma and
western North Texas.

* Through Sunday morning

* Thursday afternoon and night... best chance for heavy rainfall
southwest Oklahoma and western North Texas. Locally 1 to 2
inches of rain possible with higher amounts.

* Friday through Saturday night... best chance for heavy rainfall
will reside from northern through central... and southern
Oklahoma... and western North Texas. Locally 1 to 2 inches of
rain possible with higher amounts.

* Widespread 1 to 3 inch rainfall totals are expected through
Saturday night... with locally higher amounts exceeding 5 inches
possible.
