Flash Flood Watch, Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:19 PM CDT on May 29, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Arkansas...
north central Arkansas... southeast Arkansas and southwest
Arkansas... including the following areas... in central
Arkansas... Faulkner... Grant... Lonoke... Pulaski and white. In
north central Arkansas... Cleburne and Independence. In
southeast Arkansas... Cleveland and Jefferson. In southwest
Arkansas... Calhoun... Dallas and Ouachita.

* Through Saturday evening

* thunderstorms will affect much of Arkansas tonight through
Saturday... bringing additional heavy rains to much of the state.
Rainfall amounts through Saturday evening are expected to range
between 1 and 1.5 inches... with locally higher amounts possible.
While not exceptionally high... these rains will fall on already
saturated soil... increasing the likelihood of flash flooding.

* In addition... area rivers and streams are already flooding or
near bank full. Any additional rainfall will not be able to
drain into waterways... increasing the threat for flash
flooding. This is of greatest concern in the higher terrain
areas... including the Ouachita and Ozark mountain regions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
