Nowcast | as of 3:17 PM CDT on July 4, 2015

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 PM. While some widely scattered showers and thunderstorms were ongoing across the watch area this afternoon...widespread heavy rainfall was not being observed. This could change as we go later into the afternoon and early evening hours. If any strong storms develop...heavy downpours...strong wind gusts and frequent cloud to ground lighting would occur.

Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:53 PM CDT on July 04, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this
evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Arkansas and Louisiana... including the following
areas... in Arkansas... Columbia... Lafayette and Union. In
Louisiana... Claiborne... Lincoln... Ouachita and Union.

* Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* Heavy rainfall will continue moving southward into the watch
area this afternoon. These slow moving thunderstorms will be
efficient rainfall producers and could result in ponding of
water... rapid runoff... and flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
