Heat Advisory
Statement as of 7:43 PM CDT on July 27, 2015

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Tuesday...

A heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Tuesday.

* Areas affected: a large part of Arkansas.

* Heat index: afternoon and early evening heat index values are
expected to reach 105 to 110 degrees... with a few locations
briefly exceeding 110 degrees. Overnight lows will remain
warm... only falling into the mid to upper 70s.

* Impacts: when it is this hot... and especially for a prolonged
time... heat illnesses become more of a concern.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a combination of hot temperatures and
high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat
illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... go to an air-
conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up on
relatives and neighbors.
