Statement as of 3:58 AM CDT on May 24, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 9 am CDT this morning through
Tuesday morning...

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Louisiana and
southwest Louisiana... including the following areas... in
central Louisiana... Avoyelles... Evangeline and Rapides. In
southwest Louisiana... Allen and Jefferson Davis.

* From 9 am CDT this morning through Tuesday morning

* multiple rounds of heavy rain will fall on already saturated
ground in southeast Texas and west Louisiana. Area averages
are expected to range from 3 to 5 inches with isolated higher
amounts.

* Areas that see heavy rainfall within a short time could
receive flood water to depths that would impact property and
people in those areas. Area creeks... streams and rivers are
also likely to experience rises.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
