Showers and thunderstorms will develop again across the Northern and Central Plains on Saturday as a low pressure system continues moving eastward across the center of the nation. The system will continue pulling moisture and energy northward from the Gulf of Mexico, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region from the Northern High Plains into the Mid-Mississippi River Valley. There is a chance that these storms will turn severe across eastern Montana and western North and South Dakotas and western Nebraska. Large hail, damaging winds, and periods of heavy rainfall are likely in these areas, with possibly a few tornadoes. This system will move relativity slowly, thus, expect flooding concerns to increase over the region.

To the south, onshore flow will persist for Texas, maintaining showers and thunderstorms throughout the state on Saturday. Severe storms are not anticipated, but heavy rainfall and problems with flooding may persist for the region. In the East, showery weather will continue for the Northeast on Saturday as a low pressure system lingers over the region. Strong and gusty winds will also continue as this system slowly moves offshore. Out West, another disturbance brings more rain to Washington and Oregon Saturday night into Sunday. High pressure dominating across California and the Desert Southwest will keep most of this moisture away to the north. Thus, expect another sunny and dry day for the rest of the West Coast.

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has extended the

* Flood Warning for bayou des cannes affecting...
extreme west central St. Landry Parish in central Louisiana...
northwestern Acadia Parish in southwest Louisiana...
south central Evangeline Parish in central Louisiana...

* until 230 PM CDT Saturday

* at 824 PM CDT... moderate flooding is occuring along bayou des
cannes near Eunice with a current stage of 18.0 feet. The Bayou
has crested near 18.1 feet and is forecast to continue a slow
fall.

* Moderate flooding will continue along along The Bayou with water
covering some roads near The Bayou.
