At 223 PM MDT Doppler radar indicated a line of showers and thunderstorms from 9 miles northwest of Sparks to 20 miles southeast of Hyannis...moving east at 10 mph. Other showers and strong thunderstorms were developing across Sheridan County along the Niobrara river moving toward Highway 61 and shadbolt Road. Locations that may be affected through 5 PM CDT...4 PM MDT include... Smith Falls State Park...Sparks...Valentine...Mullen and Brownlee. 1 inch of rain may fall in 30 minutes with strongest storms. Some storms could become severe and produce large hail and wind damage.

The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
north central Arthur County in west central Nebraska...
southeastern Grant County in west central Nebraska...

* until 900 PM MDT

* at 255 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rainfall around Green Lake. Doppler radar
estimated 3 inches of rainfall between Highway 61... Spring Valley
Lake and cogill lake.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Minor flooding is expected to occur over mainly rural
areas of north central Arthur and southeastern Grant counties...
including the towns of cogill lake... Green Lake and Sand Puddin
Lake.

This includes the following streams and drainages... North Fork
dismal river.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An additional 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rainfall is still possible in
the advisory area.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Minor flooding is expected to occur over mainly rural
areas of north central Arthur and southeastern Grant counties...
including the towns of cogill lake... Green Lake and Sand Puddin
Lake.
