Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 12:41 PM CDT on May 24, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of central Kansas and south central Kansas...
including the following areas... in central Kansas... Chase. In
south central Kansas... Butler... Cowley... Sedgwick and Sumner.

* Until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* Another round of showers and thunderstorms is possible this
afternoon... especially for locations near the Kansas-Oklahoma
border. Given saturated grounds... anything more than a passing
light shower will likely result in renewed flooding or
exacerbate existing flooding. Minor flooding is also forecast on
several rivers across the area.

* Those with outdoor plans along creeks and rivers need to
monitor the weather situation closely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
