Statement as of 3:07 PM CDT on May 29, 2015

The National Weather Service in Wichita has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Greenwood County in southeastern Kansas...

* until 1000 PM CDT Friday

* at 306 PM CDT... local law enforcement reported minor flooding
continuing across the typical flood prone areas across the County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Eureka... Madison... Hamilton... Severy... Fall River... Climax...
Virgil... Eureka City Lake... Fall River State Park... Fall River
Lake... Thrall... Eureka Airport... Piedmont... Cross Timbers State
Park and Toronto Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:57 PM CDT on May 29, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Kansas... including the following
areas... Allen... Chautauqua... Elk... Greenwood... Labette...
Montgomery... Neosho... Wilson and Woodson.

* Through Saturday morning.

* Occasional showers and thunderstorms will affect southeast
Kansas through tonight. Given the already saturated
grounds... any additional rainfall will aggravate existing
flooding... or result in renewed flooding. Excessive runoff may
also lead to rapid rises on rivers and streams.

* Those with outdoor plans along creeks and rivers need to monitor
the weather situation closely for tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
