The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Smith County in north central Kansas...
western Jewell County in north central Kansas...

* until 830 PM CDT

* at 527 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
persistent and slow-moving thunderstorms. This will cause minor
flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain has been
estimated by radar... and another one to two inches is possible.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mankato... Lebanon... Burr Oak... Esbon and Ionia.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

produced heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches. This will cause minor
flooding in the advisory area... and additional rainfall is
expected this evening.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Osborne... Downs... Gaylord... Portis... Alton and Harlan.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
