Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 5:38 AM CST Feb. 14, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon CST
today...

* timing... a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain has developed
across mainly central and south central Missouri early this
morning. This precipitation will continue to spread east and
expand across portions of the Western Ozarks this morning. Snow
will still be possible across portions of central and south
central Missouri.

* Main impact... a glaze of ice and light sleet accumulations are
occurring and are resulting in slick spots. Modot is reporting
roads quickly becoming covered under the sleet and freezing rain
showers. Roads will continue to become slick quickly after the
precipitation occurs and slick spots can be expected this
morning... especially east of Highway 65 this morning.

* Other impacts... even a light accumulation will cause hazardous
travel conditions. Check Road conditions before you travel this
morning. If the Road looks wet and the temperature is below
freezing... it might be icy. A light glaze of ice will be
possible on exposed objects and roadways. A dusting of light
sleet will be possible. A dusting to one and one half inches of
snow and sleet accumulations are possible across the Eastern
Ozarks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of light snow...
sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be
prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use
caution while driving.
