... Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for eastern Johnson County
in west central Missouri until 330 PM CDT...

At 1049 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area.
Rainfall estimates of two to four inches have fallen across portions
of the warned area.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Knob
Noster... Warrensburg and Whiteman Air Force Base.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... normally dry washes... as well
as farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

in west central Missouri until 330 PM CDT...

At 1040 am CDT... emergency management reported thunderstorms with
very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Additional rainfall of
one to two inches are expected over the next several hours.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Blue
Springs... Buckner... Claycomo... Courtney... Edwardsville... Fairway...
Gladstone... Grain Valley... Independence... Kansas City... Kansas City
Kansas... Lake lotawana... Lake Quivira... Leawood... Lee's Summit...
Lenexa... Merriam... mission... Mission Hills... North Kansas City... Oak

south central Ray County in west central Missouri...

* until 1130 am CDT

* at 835 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler
radar estimated two to three inches of rain has fallen in this
area.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding
include... Lexington... Odessa... Richmond... Hardin... Henrietta...
Mayview and Wellington.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

Most deaths in flash flooding occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to
cross bridges... dips... or low water crossings if water covers the
roadway. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on
foot or in a vehicle.
