* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Linn County in east central Kansas...
northern Bates County in west central Missouri...
southeastern Miami County in east central Kansas...
southern Cass County in west central Missouri...

* until 430 am CDT Thursday

* at 1028 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the
warned area.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Adrian... Butler... La Cygne... Archie... Creighton and Drexel.

... Forecast flooding increased from minor to moderate severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Big Creek at Blairstown.

* Until Saturday afternoon.
* At 10:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 18.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Thursday morning and
continue to rise to near 24.6 feet by Thursday evening. The river
will fall below flood stage by Friday afternoon.
* At 23.0 feet... flooding occurs at the west approach to the N
Highway bridge located 0.2 miles west of Blairstown. Flooding also
occurs across b Highway near Big Creek which is several miles
northwest of Blairstown.
* At 20.0 feet... the West Bank of the creek begins to flood.

... Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for southern Jackson and
northeastern Cass counties until 200 am CDT...

At 943 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. 2 to
4 inches of rain fell over a 2 to 3 hour period of time... causing
several roads to become overtaken with flooding water.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Greenwood... Lee's Summit... Pleasant Hill... Lake Winnebago and Lone
Jack.

The rain has finished for the time being and flooding should
gradually wane over the next several hours.


At 915 PM 3 to 4 inches of water was running over Highway 150 at
Peterson Road.

At 908 PM Highway 291 and hook Road in Lees Summit was closed due to
high water running over the Road.

At 858 PM a trained spotter reported 3 feet of water running over
Highway 291 and Highway 50 in Lees Summit.



This will impact

I-470 between mile markers 4 and 8.
