Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 2:55 AM CST on March 01, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 PM CST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

* Timing... snow will continue across the area today. The heaviest
snow accumulations are expected through the morning hours.

* Accumulations... 5 to 7 inches are likely over much of east
central and southeast Illinois... with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Wind... speeds are expected to range from 5 to 10 mph through
the period... thus blowing and drifting snow are not expected
to be a problem.

* Impacts... roads will continue to be snow covered and slippery
through the day. Visibility will be reduced to less than a mile
in the heavier snow this morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means significant amounts
of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. If you must
travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
