The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Riverton.
* Until further notice.
* At 11:00 am Tuesday the stage was 22.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 21.6 feet
by tomorrow morning.
* At 22.0 feet... flooding becomes more serious. Water is approaching
critical levels on most levees. Flooding enters some river Cabins.
Flooding is at the outskirts of Palestine and Russellville,
Illinois. Flood waters near Illinois 33 between Palestine and
Hutsonville, Illinois. Many local river roads are flooded.

the Wabash River at Hutsonville legacy Power Plant site.
* Until further notice.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 22.3
feet this afternoon.
* At 22.0 feet... river Cabins become isolated. Basement flooding
begins in Hutsonville. Extensive agricultural flooding is in
progress. Higher Illinois rural roads in eastern Clark and
Crawford counties flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Terre Haute.
* Until Thursday July 16.
* At 11:00 am Tuesday the stage was 18.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Wednesday before midnight.
* At 19.0 feet... all of the area on the west side of the Wabash River
is flooded from Sugar Creek to US 40 and I-70. South Lake becomes
part of the wetland project.

Marshall... Mason... McLean... Menard... Moultrie... Peoria...

* From Wednesday morning through Wednesday night

* a weather system will bring showers and thunderstorms to the
area Wednesday through Wednesday night. The showers and
thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy rainfall as they
move over the area. An area of 1 to 2 inches of rainfall can be
expected south of I-72 through the period with locally higher
amounts possible. Up to 1 inch of rain is possible north of
I-72. The ground still remains saturated from around 1 inch of
rain received in past 24 hours with locally 1.5 to 3 inch
amounts. So any additional heavy rainfall could lead to flash
flooding of low lying areas and poor drainage areas.

* Heavy rainfall will result in flooding of poor drainage and
low lying areas... resulting in the potential of dangerous
flooding on smaller creeks and streams. This could also cause
rises on larger rivers and streams that are have been receding
in the past couple of days... and cause other rivers to remain
in the state of flood for a longer period of time.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
